GAME CANCELLED!!!
The April 17 game against the Braves at Jacobs High School has been cancelled by the league due to wet grounds.
Next scheduled game is Sunday, May 1 at 12:15 p.m. at Jacobs High School against the Grays.

Ken Kozlik checked out the field at Jacobs High School and reports that there is some standing water behind the bag at second base and a little on the third base line. There is also water in the dugouts. It was not raining in Algonquin when he was at the field and we decided to wait until Sunday morning to make the official call. Ken will return to the field at 7:00 a.m.
If it rains anymore this evening we will most likely just call the game tonight. The field cannot take any more water especially since it's only about 35 degrees out.

9/18/2010PLAYOFF GAME STATUS (1)
The people in charge of the field at the American Legion post have made the decision that the field will not be in playing condition at all tomorrow (Sept. 19) -- not at 10:00 or any later for that matter. Ken threw out several options but it will depend on what the other managers want to do:
options
1) the Bats/Angels game is moved to Hiller Park at 10:00 a.m. (not sure of field conditions there)
2) the Bats/Angels game gets moved to Sept. 26, but Braves/Grays play their game at 12:30 at Hiller and have a week off before playing again
3) both of the wood bat division first round games get moved back to Sept. 26 with the next weekend (Oct. 3) being for the championship.
Ken has not talked to anyone else yet so I can't tell you for sure if we play tomorrow or not. It depends on what the other teams say. I do know that the absolute last weekend of baseball will be Oct 3. because that's as late as we can get ANY field. As soon as I hear something I will let you know. I just spoke to Ken O'Young and he said the 9:30 game before ours has been canceled. It's still a little too early to call our game, but there is a very good chance we will have to. Our own Ken Kozlik will be checking the field around 10:15 to see how things look. Stay tuned.

I just looked at the weather radar and it is very ugly out west. Also, Ken is driving in this morning from the west and he reported the rain is very heavy and heading our way. Please stay posted and we will do what we can to keep you informed prior to the game. As always our goal is to keep you from driving in for nothing if we can.

As far as I know the gamer is on and there is no rain rigfht now in Algonquin (according to my daughter). Scott and I are leaving right now for the game so we won't know anything else until we get there. If you ordered pizza, please don't forget your money.
