The weather forecast is not looking great for today's game.  It's still too early to say anything definite yet.  My daughter lives in Algonquin and she said she had heard rain was supposed to move in around 10 am and last until noon.  Here is the forecast off of Weather Bug:

     "Partly cloudy. Slight chance of showers early in the morning...then a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 70s. Light and variable winds early in the morning becoming northeast around 10 mph in the late morning and afternoon. Chance of rain 30 percent."

     The game for today, June 13, will be played.  The field is in good shape and they are playing an early game on it right now.  Our game is at 1:00 pm.

8:00 a.m.  Just heard from the White Sox.  GAME IS ON!!!!  The field is in very good shape.  See you out there shortly.

As of 7:30 a.m. I have not heard from the White Sox about field conditions.  The radar shows clear skies so it all depends on how well Emricson Field drains.  Check back at 8:00 for the next update.

The game time for the June 6 game against the River Bandits at Marengo High School has been changed from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

ALGONQUIN BATS OUTDOOR PRACTICE BEGINS ON APRIL 3

Weather permitting there will be a practice on Saturday, April 3 (from 1-3 p.m.) at Jacobs High School.  We will not be able to use the baseball field, so we will try to practice in the open field down in the valley just west of the varsity field.

At least 9 players have said they should be able to make practice.  This will be geared mainly to fly ball and pop up practice for outffielders and infielders, but if there is some time we might try to hit a little bit too.

BATS MAY PLAY TEAM FROM MILWAUKEE ON APRIL 11

Ken O'Young is trying to get an exhibition game put together with a team from Milwaukee.  The game would most likely be played in Gurnee or McHenry.  He is asking for teams that might be interested.  As of March 31, 10 out of 11 players responding have said they want to play the exhibition game if we can.  I told Ken this evening to sign us up if he can.
