The Bats fell, 13-1, to the Angels on Sunday in a game that saw Bats catcher Don Gragnani behind the plate for his 100th consecutive game.  By the end of the game Gragnani had caught all 634 innings and all 3,761 batters for 100 straight contests.  His amazing feat was highlighted in the May 19 edition of the Daily Herald.  (Click on the News tab above to read the Daily Herald article.)

The Angels (2-1) scored 4 times in the first inning aided by 2 errors and 4 walks.  They had only 1 hit in the frame as the Bats (1-2) surrendered 3 more unearned runs to put themselves in an early hole.

The Angels built up a 13-0 lead after 5 innings before the Bats mounted their only serious rally in the top of the sixth to score their lone run.  Kevin Molbeck and Mike Hareng collected two-out singles followed by a double by Earl Blankenship to drive home Molbeck for the Bats only run.

The Bats had 10 hits in the contest with Molbeck being the only Bats hitter to collect 2 hits in the game.

The Bats next game will be on Sunday, June 4 at 1 p.m. against the Lightning at Carmel High School in Mundelein, Ill.
