Sunday, June 16 (WEEK 9)
The Bats were held hitless for four innings before exploding for 4 runs in the fifth inning and holding on for a 4-3 win over the Braves. The Bats took advantage of a two-out pop up off the bat of Mike Ryan that fell for a single between several Braves infielders. This was followed by a 2-run single by Don Gragnani and an RBI hit by Bill Quoss.
John Moulchin pitched five innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 run to pick up the victory. Mike Ryan pitched the last two innings and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits and was credited with the save.
The win left the Bats with a record of 1-5-1 while the hard-luck Braves fell to 1-6. Five of their six losses have been by 1 run this season.
The Bats next game is Sunday, June 23 at 9:30 a.m.
against the first-place Angels at Wauconda High School in Wauconda. The address is 670 N Main St., Wauconda, IL.
