The Bats notched their first win of the season as Ken Kozlik scatted 7 hits and struck out 6 en route to a 14-5 victory over the Grays.  The Bats improved to 1-6 while the Grays dropped to 3-6.

Kozlik was making his fifth start of the season on the mound and retired 9 of the first 10 batters he faced.  The Bats gave him an early 4-0 lead with a run in the first and 3 more in the third, but almost gave it away with 4 errors in the bottom of the fourth leading to 3 unearned runs by the Grays.  The crafty right-hander surrendered only 2 earned runs in the sixth.

The Bats rapped out 19 hits, by far their highest hit total of the season. Kozlik helped his own cause by collecting 4 of those hits, including a bunt single in the fourth inning. His 4-for-5 performance raised his season's avaerage to .389.  Newcomer Bob Gurchak went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI to raise his average to a team-leading .556. Andy Liebman also collected 3 hits with 4 RBI to bump his average up to
