Opening Day for the Bats was postponed due to cold weather and soggy field conditions.
A wet field from the previous day's rains and a game time temperature of 37 degrees proved to be too much for the Bats and Braves Opening Day contest at Jacobs High School.  The April 17 opener was postponed and a make-up date has not been set.

The Bats enter this season hoping to improve on their 7-9 record in the 2010 campaign.  The Braves won the Wood Bat Division with a regular season record of 8-8.  Last year the Braves won 3 out of 4 games from the Bats in regular season competition.  The two teams are scheduled to meet again on May 22 at Plote Field in Lake in the Hills.

After a league-wide day off for Easter Sunday, the Bats will try to opening their season on May 1 against the Grays at Jacobs High School varsity field, 2601 Bunker Hill Dr., Algonquin, IL.  Game time is 12:15 p.m.  The Bats were 3-0 against the Grays in 2010 winning 10-4, 5-3, and 12-10.  The expansion Grays finished with a record of 4-12 after starting the season off with 8 straight losses.
