An early morning thunderstorm dumped enough rain on the varsity field at Jacobs High School to make it unplayable for the 12:15 pm game between the Bats (4-4) and Yard Dogs (4-3).  In the only contest of the season between these two teams the Bats were hoping to maintain their slim half-game lead over the second-place Angels in the Wood Bat Division.  No make up date has been set.

The Bats next game is Sunday, July 11 against the Angels (3-4) at Faulkner Field in Gurnee.  Game time is 10:00 a.m.  Faulkner Field is located next to the American Legion Post #771 at 749 Milwaukee Ave., Gurnee, IL.  In a game with playoff implications this will be the third meeting between the Bats and Angels who have split their previous two outings.
